How to Start Your Morning: 7 Tips to Incorporate Into Your Morning Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at F and M chapter.

As a college student, our days are full of classes, work, homework, stress, stress, and more stress. If you’re planning on starting this semester with new habits on how to avoid feeling sluggish throughout your day and to stay optimistic, keep reading for the 7 tips that you can include in your lifestyle to start your morning right.

Tip 1: Sleep with your blinds slightly open so that there will be a slight amount of light when you wake up. This amount will not make the room too dark, thus it will prevent you from wanting to go back to sleep. In the same way, the room will also not be too bright as to disrupt your sleep.

Tip 2: Change your alarm tone to a fun song that will make you enjoy waking up.

Suggested Playlists:

1.     Pharrell Williams – Happy

2.     Allstar Weekend – Not Your Birthday

3.     Hailee Steinfield – Love Myself

4.     Rachel Platten – Fight Song

5.     One Direction – Best Song Ever

Tip 3: Keep a water bottle or a mug by your bedside table so that you can hydrate yourself after you wake up.

Tip 4: Plan out your outfit, as well as pack your school bag, the night before so that you don’t have to spend extra time in the morning to plan for the day. This extra time will provide you with more time in the morning to sleep in or relax before beginning your day.

Tip 5: Eat breakfast or have some snacks before you begin your day so that you have energy.

Tip 6: Keep a notebook or sticky notes full of quotes to motivate yourself before you leave your room.

Tip 7:Take a deep breath and think of something positive that you’re going to do today or compliment yourself.

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!
