Your Spring 2014 Trend Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Now that Atlanta’s snowpocalypse has melted away and the snow-day snapchat selfies have ceased, we can move on to more important things – like spring 2014 trends. If you hail from Florida, like I do (or anywhere else, for that matter), you may be finding yourself wishing for warmer weather.

Temps here in the ATL have been more up and down than Kim Kardashian when she’s PMSing. So for right now, while it’s warmer out, don’t be afraid to break out those spring clothes that have been collecting dust in your closet. Hey, maybe the weather will follow your example and we can leave the snowpocalypse behind, just like the apocalypse that was supposed to happen in 2012, am I right?

So, to help you do that, here are my top 4 spring trends – the only spring trends you need to worry about (because they’re my favorites).

1.     Crop Tops & Bare Midriffs: stick to your gym routine, this almost age-old trend (especially in college life) isn’t going anywhere.

2.     Sheer: another popular trend that shows some skin. But ladies, please find a bandeau for yourselves if you are planning on wearing the chiffon top/bra combo.

3.    Wide-leg Trousers: you don’t have to be a thin glamazon to rock this trend, just make sure you try them on before you leave the store, because they can be a more difficult look to pull off.

4.     The Shift Blouse: probably my favorite trend, because let’s face it: this is a dressed up T-shirt. And that’s awesome. These shirts are equipped with Versace-esque textures and boxy silhouettes. Get your hands on some!
