Now that New York Fashion Week is over we’re left with nothing but pictures, videos, and the occasional GIF to remind us of those amaze outfits we wish we could wear. Don’t panic – just because we can’t special order Oscar de la Renta’s stunning, old-school glamour gowns doesn’t mean we can’t master his downtown glam sultry smoky eye. Here’s a guide to fashion week hair and makeup with my top 5 favorite trends:

1. Brows, Brows, Brows. We already knew brows were a thing when Lily Collins’ beautifully bushy eyebrows got their own twitter account, but it looks like big brows are here to stay. Naeem Khan’s “bourdoir chic” collection was accentuated with her models’ big, bold brows. The look at Jason Wu was boyish brows highlighted with extra powders and shadows for a bolder, fuller look. Grow out your brows ladies!

2. Gold. Metallic makeup = stand out, gorg face in the crowd (even in Asbury Circle on Wonderful Wednesday, trust me, you’ll get noticed). Many designers showcased their designs with metallic makeup, but gold was the most featured. The look at Tracy Reese was a shiny gold statement lid, but this hue isn’t limited to just makeup. Suno’s models’ hair perfectly accented his “rags to riches” collection with the parts of their hair painted gold.

3. Braids. Braids were all over the runways from Marc by Marc Jacobs’ pigtail braids, to Emerson’s edgy, messy braids, and even braided bangs at Nanette Leopore. So on those days when you don’t feel like straightening your hair to perfection or spending hours trying to perfect your bangs (i.e. gloomy, rainy days), try emulating these modern takes on a schoolgirl classic.

4. Sans Mascara. This season, many designers opted to go for a mascara-free look by simply curling models’ eyelashes. Don’t worry about spending extra time perfecting your mascara application technique, simply curl them for a delicate, wispy look. Tory Burch’s models had soft eye shadow and black cream liner, but no mascara. The look at Derek Lam was a dramatic smoky eye to complement the “modern silhouette” of his pieces.

5. Androgynous. Minimalism has been trending for a while, but Alexander Wang’s models took it to a whole other level with their bleached brows and simple eye and cheekbone contouring. Even the Kardashians joined the androgynous trend when Kendall Jenner made her fashion week debut in Marc Jacobs’s show with bleached brows and a white washed face.
