DePauw The Movie: Starring You
Kaitlin Pickrel

As students at DePauw University, we all know there are endless events that deserve to be personally documented. Whether it’s Monon Bell weekend, a crazy night out, a Winter Term Trip, Spring Break, or just a beautiful Saturday afternoon, all of these events need to be remembered! Why not document your time at DePauw with Flip videos?

Here’s how to have the best Flip video experience:

1. Pass it around! Don’t feel like one person has to always be shooting the action. Flips are simple to use, and everyone should have the chance to be in the middle of the action! After all, you have to document you were part of such fun activities.

2.Get the spontaneous action: The best videos are filmed when people don’t know they are being taped. You won’t have to be annoying and ask everyone to get together and pose, that ruins the moment. Be sneaky and embarrass them later! It’s the candid moments that make for the best memories later!

3. Underwater fun: Most Flip video cameras are waterproof, so take yours out into the ocean on your beach adventure next Winter Term. Or, if you’re out at a party, it won’t matter when someone spills a drink on it!

4.Pull it all together: After the event is over, put the videos on your computer, crop out the unnecessary footage, and turn the raw footage into a movie. Even those who are the most technologically challenged can pull it off!

5.Add some music: Add a song to your movie. Maybe throughout the whole night of an event the only song you heard was “Call me Maybe?” Add it to the video to as a funny reminder.

So, if you don’t have one already, on your next shopping spree think about getting a Flip video camera to document the rest of your memorable moments at DePauw.  The movies will be a nice memento of your second home!
