Celebrate Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Davidson chapter.

We all get stressed and down sometimes. We all get a little sad when we realize how far away our next exciting holiday is, be it our birthday, Christmas, or Halloween (not too long til that one guys. Am I too old to trick or treat? Please say no). Anyway, here are a couple of days worth celebrating to spice up your life just a little.

Get Your Eat On

Drink Wine Day–February 18th. For all those people who are single and get down about Valentine’s Day, February just got a whole lot better. Actually, it just got better for everyone. Bottoms up. Chocolate: There is Cream Filled Chocolate Day, Chocolate Pecan Pie Day, Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day, Chocolate Ice Cream Day, Chocolate Mousse Day, Chocolate Milkshake Day, Chocolate Chip Day, White Chocolate Cheesecake Day, and that’s just the first page of search results. Basically, celebrate chocolate always.

Taco Day–October 4th. My loosest pants and I are preparing ourselves.

Get Your Love On

Best Friends Day–August 15th. You get anniversaries and Valentine’s Day and all that to celebrate your SOs, so don’t forget to take a day to celebrate your real numero unos. Make sure these beautiful humans know you don’t take them for granted, and then do something really weird that you would only do in front of them to show them they’re still relevant. Or send them a nice card. Your pick.

Sibling Day–April 10th. Make sure you tell your siblings you love them as you’re dragging them by the hair from the passenger side door so you can have shotgun!

Grandparents Day–The first Friday after Labor Day. First of all, these are the people who raised the people who are raising you. So if you like your parents, you should probably thank your grandparents for helping them become who they are. Second, they buy you ice cream when your parents say no. Third, they are old and adorable and you light up their world so make sure you show them love. If they are no longer with you, honor their memory. Personally, I think this should be every day.

Get Your Cute On

International Red Panda Day–September 21st. Oh yes. It’s a thing. I will be celebrating this holiday by abandoning all worldly professions and starting a commune where we go live amongst the red pandas and raise their young as our own. Take Your Dog to Work Day–The first Friday after June 19th. Personally, I think it’s some SH** that this isn’t during the school year. Petition for Professors Bring Their Dogs to Class Day? Unicorn Day–April 9th. Let’s just agree right now to wear unicorn horns to class and have a unicorn themed court party and celebrate these adorable, majestic creatures.

Holiday I’m starting right now because WHY ISN’T IT A THING???????????????? Mini Horse day. June 15th (A.K.A., My Birthday). You’re welcome America. This has been my contribution to society.

Leif Erikson Day.

October 9th. This seemed important.

Get out there and celebrate!

All of these dates came from daysoftheyear.com. Except for Leif Erikson Day, which I googled specifically because I got excited about it. It’s coming up y’all.
