If you haven’t heard of Ryan Cameron around campus, we’d be surprised. Known around Conn for his shining personality, humor, and talented vocal chops, Ryan is a senior majoring in Architectural Studies.  Last year, Ryan studied abroad in Florence, Italy, where he fell in love with the culture…and managed to leave with a leather jacket. We sat down with this campus cutie to see what he had to say.

What is your typical, go-to meal at Harris?

My signature dish that I create at Harris is a whole wheat pita, sliced very thinly down the middle. If there is shredded cheese, that is a plus. If not, you have to shred your own onto the pita using sliced deli cheese. You take onions and sprinkle it on top. Then, you drizzle barbecue sauce ever so delicately, before topping the pita and grilling it. For best results, dip grilled pita pocket into barbecue sauce. Slice into quarters if that is your thing.

When not in class, where can you be found?

When not in class, I can be found meandering around campus trying to find people to talk to. Outside the library is a prime location, as well as Cro. And, actually, the mail room is a hot spot. Always take the longest route to class so you can socialize with the most people.

Favorite musical?

That’s a toughie. My favorite musical would probably have to be Hair because it was my first musical at Conn and I was able to strip naked in front of the whole school. Seriously.

You’re a senior.  Any plans after school?

I would love to move out to San Francisco and pursue commercial real estate, which is what my CELS internship entailed. I don’t know, I just think it would be a lot of fun to sell houses and be able to buy things myself along the way.

If you could pick one place to be in the world right now, where would it be?

I would probably be sitting at Acqua al’ Due, my favorite restaurant in Florence, Italy (where I studied abroad), sipping on a cappuccino and eating a blueberry steak.

What are you involved with at Conn?

I try to be as involved at Conn as I can. I am president of Conn’s only all-male a capella group, the Coco Beaux… download us on iTunes. I also perform in the theatre department.

What are you most excited for about senior year?

I am probably most excited about getting a lot closer with people in our class. I think that everyone is starting to realize that it will be our last time together. Though I am friends with a lot of people from other grades, I felt an immediate bond with our class when I stepped onto campus this year.

Who is your idol?

I would have to say my dad because he is just such a cool guy. He is the adult that I want to be. He is a friend and a dad.

Describe Conn in one word.

Not-UConn.
