The Last Semester of College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Chicago chapter.

There are currently two words that send a rush of emotions through me. Just the thought of those two words make me scared, excited, nervous, anxious, and probably a few more things that I can’t think of at the moment. Those two words are two months. In two months, I will be graduating from college. A day I never thought would come. As I prepare for what’s to come in these next two months, I thought I should share some of the things I’m going to do, because I know I am not the only one nearing graduation.

Don’t let “Senioritis” get to you
I know, you’ve worked hard for four years, you’re almost done and you want to get out! I am in the same boat, but now is not the time to get lazy. You still have to walk across that stage. Find friends who are just as motivated as you are for support, and you will be able to make it through these last two months.

Work Hard
Work harder than you’ve ever worked before. Why not “go out with a bang?” It is your last semester. To say you finished your college career strong is pretty great in my book. So stay motivated and work hard.

Figure out what’s next
That’s another thought that might send a chill down your spine, but it’s about that time. College is coming to a close, and you will really be out in the “real world.” Whether it’s a possible job lined up or moving to a new city, you have to know what’s next.

Enjoy It All!
Yes, these are your last months and you have to work hard, but these are your last two months of college. Your “best years” are about to be behind you. Have fun and take it all in when you can. I can definitely say these past four years are years I will never forget, so I definitely want my last two months to be memorable.
