How To Make a Sunglasses Case

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colby chapter.

This craft is a perfect way to prepare for warm weather ahead!  Protect your favorite pair of sunglasses with this easy to make case – and decorate it however you want for a one-of-a-kind accessory!
Supplies : A piece of felt or fabric, sewing needle, thread, scissors, and buttons/decorations

1.     Cut away excess felt so that the piece of material you are left with is only slightly larger than the size of your glasses.  This way, they will not slide around in the case and will be better protected.  Fold the felt in half with some extra material left at the top to fold over.

2.     Thread your needle with thick string or embroidery thread, and starting on the inside so the knot will not show, sew the two sides of felt together moving from back to front along the edge of the case.

3.     After sewing the first side, cut and knot the thread and then sew the other edges together.  Make sure not to sew the top flap of fabric so you can fold it over later.

4.     Sew a button onto the top half of the upper middle of the fabric.

5.     Fold the top piece of felt or fabric over and mark where the button is, then cut a small slit.  You can sew the edges of the slit if you want, or just leave it as it is.

6.     Now you have completed all the necessary steps!  Finish off your case by cutting the top or adding extra decorations and show off your creation!
