Why Go? It’s a night Pittsburghers look forward to all year. With 100 cars in the parade lineup, live entertainment in Schenley Plaza and a beautiful menorah lighting, it’s a wonderful way to celebrate Chanuka.

The Jazz Nutcracker
Date: December 9–11, 16–18, 2011

Admission: Student tickets $7-$8
Why Go? All you have to see is the poster to know this show is going to be hot. With arrangements inspired by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, it’s a crazy awesome way to get pumped for the holidays. A major plus: the extraordinary Benny Benack Band, Pittsburgh jazz royalty, will provide the live music. 
 
  Mara Flanagan is entering her seventh semester as a Chapter Advisor. After founding the Chatham University Her Campus chapter in November 2011, she served as Campus Correspondent until graduation in 2015. Mara works as a freelance social media consultant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She interned in incident command software publicity at ADASHI Systems, gamification at Evive Station, iQ Kids Radio in WQED’s Education Department, PR at Markowitz Communications, writing at WQED-FM, and marketing and product development at Bossa Nova Robotics. She loves jazz, filmmaking and circus arts.
