What’s the best part about having Centrum Cafe, Jamba Juice, and Starbucks on campus? Having it covered by your meal plan of course! Thankfully, we get a full six dollar meal covered in full by our plans, and also have some spillover bonus points in case the meal we want totals out to be a little extra. However, you won’t have to use any bonus points if you’re smart about your meal choices, and the following meals come out be under six dollars and will fill you up!

1. Iced Coffee and Nearly Any Food: If you’re looking for a quick but satisfying meal in a pinch, what better place to look than Starbucks! Here, you can get a bagel (with cream cheese) and ANY size iced coffee for under the $6 limit. If you think you’re going to be hungrier than that, however, you can buy a grande iced coffee and the Egg Sausage Sandwich for $6 even. In fact, you can pair a grande iced coffee with nearly any pastry and get it for under the $6 maximum, making breakfasts quick, convenient, and budget friendly!

2. Jamba Juice: Sometimes, all you need is a little fruit in your day to pick you up instantly! While Jamba Juice is a tad more expensive and harder to budget for, it’s possible if you choose one of the All-Fruit Smoothies, a small smoothie on any of the other menus! You can buy a medium all-fruit smoothie for well under $6, and if you need a snack you can pair it with a granola bar or bag of chips for under $6 or just a little over. If you’re not feeling fruit, however, you can purchase some oatmeal for under $6 too, leaving you with a fulfilling and healthy meal to get you between classes.

3. Centrum Cafe: Centrum Cafe is definitely one of my personal favorite places to go eat on campus, but sometimes the best items on the menu are more expensive and require the use of bonus points. But during latin nights, you can get some cheap but delicious Latin Cuisine for around $6! In addition to the usual hamburger, hot dog, chicken strips and Hawaiian pizza you can get for $6, you can also grab a burrito for under $6 and some bomb nachos for just a tad over (49 cents.) You can also get a tuna melt and a cookie for $5.48, or a salad if you’re looking for something healthier. If you play your cards right, you can maximize your full $6 and get diner-like food, all covered with one swipe!

4. Ullman-to-Go: Although Ullman-to-Go isn’t one of the world-famous restaurants on campus, nearly EVERYTHING on the To-Go menu is covered in full by your meal plan! You can build your own sandwich, grab a salad, a pizza bagel, or a breakfast burrito for the $6 you can spend. Ullman-to-Go is nearly a free-for-all when it comes to the meal plan budget, and everything in there is budget friendly and pretty tasty! If you’re looking for something fast and reasonably priced, this is for sure your best stop.

Who said good food had to be expensive? With a meal plan and a good appetite, a great meal could be all yours with just one swipe. Happy Eating!
