Every Bucknellian knows that 7th Street Cafe is where you go for an all-day study sesh, a quick group meeting, or even to just enjoy the cozy ambiance. The beverage menu provides endless possibilities, some I’m sure you didn’t know existed unless you’ve truly studied the offerings. But let’s be honest, despite the plethora of possibilities, most of us get the same thing every time. To investigate this phenomenon, we sat down with a few baristas to answer the question: What does your 7th Street drink say about you?
The Americano – espresso with hot water
If you’re ordering an Americano, you mean pure business. You’re a go-getter, overachiever type, with an intense schedule and a strong attitude to go with it. You probably have a busy day ahead of you between your triple major within the Engineering school and your 11+ extracurriculars, from BSG to the Students for Hedgehogs committee. You know you need your caffeine, and you know how to order it.

The Snicker Bar Milkshake – caramel, hazelnut, chocolate syrup, espresso & vanilla ice cream
Ordering this delish dessert drink probably means you’re the life of the party. You’re carefree, but outgoing. You’re not afraid to mix of all of those flavors just like you’re willing to mix up your friend groups. You love to have fun no matter what, even at the cost of that calorie count. And let’s be real, you’re probably still feeling last night’s exploits and looking for a yummy pick-me-up.
Switching it up? Taste Castle On a Cloud Milkshake – espresso, almond rocha, vanilla syrup & vanilla ice cream.
The Chai Latte – spiced black tea & milk
Chai Latte? You’re girly. You dress to impress, always putting your best foot forward. You need that caffeine, but coffee’s just a bit too strong for you. Spinning and online shopping take up a lot of your free time. Giggly and sweet, the chai latte regular loves it with soymilk and probably likes it iced. (Baristas claim they’ve never seen a guy order this. Definitely a ladies beverage.)
Need a change? How about the Matcha Green Tea Latte – matcha green tea & choice of milk
The Mocha – espresso, chocolate syrup, steamed milk & whipped cream
The Mocha-lover is a long-time caffeine addict who hates the taste of coffee. Habitual by nature, you’ve been ordering the Mocha ever since the local Starbucks opened on the main street of your town. You’re traditional and reserved, but know how to indulge. Who doesn’t love chocolate?

The Zen Tazo Green Tea
If you ordered the Zen Tazo Green Tea, you’ve probably mastered the zen and found your inner peace. Between yoga and tabata, you’re super fit and health conscious. We’re guessing you take total advantage of the Monday-Wednesday-Friday quinoa option in the Bison (probably with extra edamame). You know when to kick back and relax, and enjoy an early bedtime of 9pm.
Change it up! Order the Lime Raspberry Rickey – Lime & raspberry syrup & soda water
The Fruity Lemon – lemonade, strawberries & banana
You’re the definition of adventurous. You took the time to read the menu and find the drink you hadn’t tried. Adaptive and friendly, we bet you even chatted with the barista before ordering. The girl who orders the Fruity Lemon is a daring risk taker who probably went cliff-diving while abroad in Australia or South Africa.

Coffee – Pike Place Roast
The ordinary coffee lover is reflective, but indecisive. You love the taste of coffee, and have probably tried all seven blends. Yet, you still can’t seem to leave your comfort zone to venture into realm of lattes and iced fruity drinks. You’ve been awake since the 90s, but in the world of unknowns, you like the safe pick.
How about trying the Boomer – 1 shot of espresso & 1 shot of chocolate syrup
Next time you’re at 7th Street and you’ve nestled yourself into one of those wooden booths, craving your fave go-to beverage, stop and take a look at that menu. Be adventurous! Unless you’re totally cool with your drink’s corresponding personality profile, in which case go ahead order that large Snickers milkshake. And don’t forget the white chocolate raspberry scone to go with it.
