If you haven’t seen the movie Pitch Perfect, you are not living life to the fullest. The movie focuses on the main character, Anna, and her journey to find herself at college (of course through joining an a capella group). However, Fat Amy is the one that should really be center stage. Yes, she does call herself Fat Amy so that “twig b****** don’t do it behind [her] back.”
We all can take a lesson from Fat Amy, which is to love our bodies and be confident in ourselves no matter what people say or what people think. Sometimes Fat Amy can be a little too confident; her talents include “sing[ing], modern dance, olden dance, and mermaid dancing,,” but she is proud of who she is and certainly is not afraid to show that to the world. It is completely okay to be a confident. You should even strive to be that way all the time! Each one of us has special talents and qualities and is beautiful in our own way. So why not show that off?
People will always bring you down, but it is the ability to bounce back, and show them they are wrong that makes you strong. So be like Fat Amy. “Feel the Fat Amy force” and fight back against adversity, don’t let anything stand in the way of your happiness and love yourself exactly the way you are. If one person does it, others are bound to follow. Be a leader and be confident.
As Fat Amy would said, “You. Will. Get. There.” Keep your head up and don’t be afraid to let everyone see why you are the best. Oh, and don’t forget to tell yourself every day that you “crushed it” because trust me, you did.
