The Best TV Has To Offer in Spring 2012

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

Whether you are looking for a great series to get attached to, or just something to give you a quick study break every now and again, the TV shows this spring have got you covered.  Spring 2012 promises comedy from Modern Family, drama from Gossip Girl, and everything in between from How I Met Your Mother.  If you think you are too busy to watch some of these great shows, you can always catch up on the FOX, ABC, CW, and CBS websites.

New Girl
Why we love it? Zooey Deschanel plays a quirky and beautiful character, Jess, that encompasses the goofy side we all have now and again.  With her own catchy theme song(Who’s that girl? She’s Jess), the show follows Jess’s life with her three new male roommates after a rough break up with her boyfriend.  Not only can you sympathize with her situation, but she runs into funny and awkward moments along the way.
Airtime-  FOX on Tuesday at 9 pm

Modern Family
Why we love it?  If you think your family is dysfunctional and crazy, then you haven’t met the Dunphy-Pritchett clan.  Not only does Modern Family give an inside look at the traditional suburban family, but also provides hilarious look at a gay couple and the stereotypical older man who remarries a younger, more attractive, woman.  The non-stop comedy scored Modern Family 11 Emmy’s, so chances are you will not be the only one watching America’s favorite family this spring.
Airtime- ABC on Wednesday Nights at 9 pm

Gossip Girl
Why we love it? While the girls sport the latest beauty trends and wear to die for clothing, the guys woo viewers with their good looks and hot bods.  As Blair marks a milestone with her fairytale marriage, Serena takes on Gossip Girl herself.  If Serena uncovers the identity of Gossip Girl, this may be the last season we see these fashionable New Yorkers.
Airtime- CW on Mondays at 8 pm

Revenge
Why we love it? Reminiscent of the sly women of Wisteria Lane, Revenge follows one tough chick on her mission for payback.  After her seemingly arbitrary arrival in the Hamptons, Emily reveals that she lived there once before.  Although it may take a little catching up, the steamy sex and cold-blooded revenge makes the show worthy of its name.
Airtime- ABC on Wednesdays at 10 pm

How I Met Your Mother
Why we love it? Over the past 7 seasons, this 5-time Emmy  award winning show has truly stood the test of time.  Based in the year 2030, Ted Mosby is recounting the story of how he met his wife; a scenario that could very well happen to you with the frat boy from last week’s register.  Another perk, the show is only a 21-22 minutes long, making it easy to catch up on re-runs!
Airtime-CBS on Mondays at 8 pm
