The Best Red Carpet Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

Awards Season — from the Grammys to the Oscars to the Golden Globes, stars have many opportunities to dressed up in the first few months of the year.  While a whole variety of styles grace the red carpets, there were certainly some stand-out gowns worn in the past award season.  Some of the favorites are below:

Charlize Theron at the Oscars (Dior)

While Charlize Theron looks beautiful no matter what she may be wearing, she looked especially gorgeous in this white peplum gown by Dior.

Taylor Swift at the People’s Choice Awards (Ralph Lauren Collection)

Taylor certainly amped up her look for the People’s Choice Awards by wearing a sexy white gown with a plunging neckline.  The look was completed with beautiful turquoise earrings and sultry eye makeup.

Rihanna at the Grammys (Azzedine Alaia)

We all know Rihanna can work a sexy dress — she certainly did this year at the Grammys. In her red-hot, skin-tight gown, Rihanna looked fierce on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars (Dior)

Named Best Actress, Jennifer Lawrence looked beautiful and classy in her princess pink Dior gown.

Kelly Osbourne at the Grammys (Paule Ka)

Kelly Osbourne looked great in this dramatic cut-out black gown.  Though I am not especially a fan of the purple hair, Kelly showed her fashion personality in this modified classic black dress.

Anne Hathaway at the Oscars (Prada)

Though she may not be everyone’s favorite celebrity out there, Anne Hathaway looked like a princess in her pink Prada gown and Tiffany chocker necklace.  She won best supporting actress and looked beautiful accepting her award.

Naomi Watts at the Oscars (Armani)

The fashion-forward actress looked stunning and absolutely rocked this futuristic and dramatic gown at the Academy Awards.

And last but certainly not least, I need to include a man that looks sharp and polished on and off the red carpet. I’m talking about Justin Timberlake, of course. The new king of pop looked as handsome as ever in his tailored suits (especially when singing his new single “Suit & Tie”).

Margaret is a senior at Bucknell University majoring in psychology and economics. She is a campus correspondent for Her Campus Bucknell, a member of the women's squash team, and spent last semester abroad in Rome. She loves all kinds of music from Michael Buble to old-school hip hop, Kiawah Island (SC), Oprah magazine, crossword puzzles and going out to leisurely weekend brunches with her friends.
Sarah Dubow graduated from school in 2013 and is a Digital Strategist at Marina Maher Communications in New York City. After serving as Campus Correspondent at Bucknell University, she is so excited to continue being a part of the Her Campus team! Besides traversing the city and trying to figure out what being a "real person" really means, Sarah loves long walks on the beach, sipping pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (kidding!). Real favorites include traveling, writing, kickboxing, and making up ridiculous lyrics to the latest songs. She absolutely loves anything that involves cupcakes, butterflies, glitter, and anything Parisian and specializes in baking with far too much chocolate and obsessively watching shows bound to be cancelled after the first season. Though the long term path for this post-grad collegiette remains unclear, she's looking forward to all the new 20-something adventures that await her!
