Rohan Rastogi (CAS ’16)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

From sunny California, this week’s Campus Cutie is 19-year-old Rohan Rastogi, a sophomore in CAS. He majors in Medical Sciences, so if you’re looking for someone hard-working and intelligent, he’s your guy. Rohan’s on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree and medical degree in only seven years, with two minors in Spanish and medical anthropology.

When he’s not studying for an orgo exam or a Spanish quiz, you can find him doing one of his many hobbies. He is a part of BU Photography club and is a food photographer for articles that go on TasteBUds, BU’s online culinary magazine. Despite taking photos for all of these foodies, he is limited in what he can taste. He has allergies for foods like milk, eggs, nuts, and sesame seeds.

In addition to photography, Rohan is very active. He served as captain for an intramural soccer team. He also dances on Boston University Jalwa, an Indian co-ed fusion dance team.

“[Dancing] is a good stress reliever. I can have a really tough day and as soon as I get to dance practice, immediately everything kind of melts away,” Rohan said.

Next year, in his third and final year as an undergrad on the Charles River campus, he hopes to try new things.

“I want to make time for all the things I didn’t get to do before,” Rohan said. “I want to join a band. I want to do a lot more community service than I did this year. Just things that are more about improving on me.”

Who doesn’t want a guy who’s ambitious and determined to be his best self?

Recently, Rohan was co-captain of his team for Relay for Life, an event which he has been apart of for the past two years. Their team raised over $3,000 for the cause.

Some other things Rohan does include playing the trumpet and learning languages like Spanish. This cutie’s favorite song to play on the trumpet? “Bésame Mucho” by Consuelo Velásquez. The song title directly translates to “kiss me a lot.”

And on that note, his ideal first date would be to grab lunch and go outdoors by visiting a park or somewhere like the Esplanade.

Unlike most guys, Rohan said, “I don’t look for anything in a girl in particular. I just take each person as they are.”
