When I first arrived in the city of Boston, I noticed a common trend: backpacks. Although this might seem obvious due to the fact that students make up a lot of Boston’s population, I still was excited over how the girls here make backpacks look super cute and an integral part of an outfit. The first people I turned to when it came to rounding up the street style that takes you from school to out on the town? My friends! Each of them is fun, happy, bubbly, and uniquely their own! I hope you enjoy this round up of every day as much as I did photographing them.
Look 1: The White Top
Jen is pairing her all black Fjallraven Kanken backpack with a dainty tank top from Anthropologie. I love how easy this look is. The white top brings a girliness to the look, but it’s still balanced with her low top Converse and black Topshop jeans. Have some late night classes but want to head out for a dinner date right after? Pack some touch-up accessories and make-up and you’re set for the day!
Look 2: The Denim Dream
Nicole is perfectly pairing the American classic: denim. Her Izod jacket and her Abercrombie and Fitch jeans are two different shades of denim, making her outfit effortless and cool. She’s also added a cute and comfy striped tee from Forever 21 to her look, which is always a go-to match with denim. To brighten everything up, she’s added a pop of metallic with her Steve Madden slip-on sneakers. This is the perfect outfit for Boston! The shoes are fun and comfy for all that walking and the denim jacket is great for the brisk fall days. Her grey Herschel Supply Co. backpack is a subtle edition that is practical, yet it doesn’t overpower her look!
Look 3: The Happy Hippie
Another perk of carrying a backpack as a purse, you’re hands-free! Maddy likes to carry her sunny Fjallraven Kanken backpack as it makes riding her beautiful bike to class a breeze! A backpack in a bright color is an exciting way to liven up an outfit. Got a too much in your backpack? Overalls are the best way to carry more with you when it comes to the extra pockets. Add a girly flair to your overalls by wearing them as a dress with an off the shoulder top underneath! Maddy is wearing sneakers from Adidas, a top from Brandy Melville, and her overall dress is thrifted!
Look 4: Easy Breezy
It’s Friday, you’re ready for the weekend, and when it comes to class you aren’t sure what to wear. Let your backpack be the statement. Laura has picked a classic black tank with a trendy neckline with cuffed Adriano Goldschmeid Jeans to add a twist to a classic jeans and t-shirt look. The twist? Her vintage leather backpack from a market in Spain and some pastel lavender Supergas!
