Bonnie has returned with the Wofflewich!  This dessert will change the way you see Val and the way you see desserts.  We can’t wait to try it with our friends too!

Ever had those days when you just can’t choose between desserts? My answer: ¿Porque no los dos?

Remy can vouch for me when I say that it works wonders, and this isn’t an exception. It seems like I’m continuing the Sandwich series with a sequel: the Wofflewich.

Instead of having to wait for ice cream sandwich nights at Val, why not make it yourself? In contrast to its savory counterpart, this “sandwich” is a sweet and soft delicacy, with a hint of coffee. (I hope that explains the name of this creation…)

In a nutshell(this recipe contains no nuts!)…

  •   Add a mini splash of coffee into a cup of waffle batter
  • Make the waffle
  • Let it cool for a little bit
  • Serve the ice cream onto one side (I used vanilla)
  • Finish it off with sprinkles on the side

Some extra ideas: drizzle it with chocolate syrup, add some cut up fruit, or serve a fraction each of vanilla, chocolate, and royal raspberry for a Val-edition of Neopolitan.

Bring on the waffle game.

As you can see, it only takes five steps. It’s super simple, but it is sooo good. Enjoy!

P.S. Friends, thanks for testing out my strange ideas. (And their overall rating was a 9/10). I would also like to acknowledge the original Wofflewich:

Bonnie is a sophomore at Amherst College. Even though she studies statistics, she is interested in technology, pediatric medicine, dentistry, education, and public health.  She spends most of her day trying out new things, like eating an ice cream cone while biking or looking for ways to climb onto campus building roofs. "All over the place" would be the best way to describe her.
Carina Corbin graduated from Amherst College in 2017 and started writing for Her Campus during her first year. She was a Computer Science and Asian Languages & Civilizations double major that still loves to learn languages, write short stories, eat great food and travel. She wrote for Her Campus Amherst for four years and was Campus Correspondent for 3.5 years. She enjoyed interviewing Campus Profiles and writing content that connected with the Amherst community.
