Dunkin Donuts Is Releasing A Royal Wedding-Themed Doughnut In The Shape Of A Heart, So I Guess Love Is Still Alive

In just over a week, on Saturday, May 19th, the world will be graced with a wedding spectacular when His Royal Highness Prince Harry marries American actress and philanthropist Meghan Markle.

Royal wedding fever has struck not only the hearts of people around the world, but has been seen as a profitable business for both big corporations and small businesses. Lifetime will debut Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance on Sunday May 13, various fine china proprietors have released everything from mugs to full place settings commemorating the event and, as The Independent reports, there’s some more obscure memorabilia (like condoms, sausages, beer and even dog accessories) being pedaled in an effort to drum up enthusiasm for the big day.

But one of the more eclectic, not to mention more accessible this side of the pond, but delicious homages to the happy couple comes from coffee and breakfast juggernaut Dunkin’ Donuts.

The sweets purveyor has announced that they will be releasing “The Royal Love donut” at participating locations across the country to help Anglophiles and wedding-obsessed fans to celebrate.

USA Today reports the Royal Love Donut as “a heart-shaped sweet, filled with jelly and frosted with chocolate icing and a strawberry drizzle.” It will be available from May 14 to the 20 for Royal Wedding obsessives dying to get their hands on one.

Dunkin’ Brands CEO Nigel Travis, who hails from England and has dual citizenship, stated, “We love helping our guests make special occasions, both big and small, even sweeter with fun donut designs and flavors. The Royal Wedding represents optimism, happiness and joy.”

Grab a dozen or two “Royal Love Donuts” on May 19 and enjoy the royal wedding in all its splendor.
