If you watched the second Presidential Debate last night, then you heard Romney’s latest gaffe about “binders full of women.” His comment came in response to a question about equal pay for women. If you missed it, check out this clip:

Just like after Mitt tried to fire Big Bird, the internet has taken off with the Binders Full of Women meme. Everyone is tweeting their reactions, and even making tumblrs devoted to binder bound ladies. If you’re politically minded, maybe you can even turn this into a Halloween costume. If you’re having trouble finding a binder big enough to hold you, just give Mitt a call!

Sure, Romney’s comment sounded silly, but what was he actually talking about? He was addressing the practice of looking beyond the first round of candidates to seek a wider pool of employees, with the hopes of establishing a diverse workforce (read Leah Anthony Libresco’s analysis of his response at The Huffington Post). Hopefully, though, Romney realizes that the women in the binders are real people, too, and not just numbers and sheets of paper with three hole punches. Which brings us to one of our favorite examples of the BFoW meme:

So, collegiettes, get your binders ready for election day!
