Happy Election Day, collegiettes! I know, I know, it’s not a real holiday, even though tons of school children across the country have the day off. But it sure feels a day for celebration, mainly because there are less than 12 hours until we will be free of all the negative attack adds. And, of course, poor little Abigael Evans will finally have some peace!

Until then, though, there’s still a lot to talk about. If you haven’t voted yet, make sure you get out there! Still undecided on a few issues? Check out our Election 2012 content to get a few ideas. Or, if you’ve already cast your ballot and want to stay up to date on the how the race is progressing, check out bing.com/elections for all your up-to-the-minute election coverage.

But, now that we’ve covered all that, it’s time for a few fun facts about Election Day. Did you know that until 2010, Indiana banned alcohol sales on Election Day? A few states, like Kentucky and South Carolina, still do. The law stems from the olden days when taverns served as polling centers!

And, if you hear any of your friends promising to “move to Canada if [insert candidate of choice here] wins,” you can let them know that it might not be as easy as they think! Discovery News details how becoming a resident of Canada is a bit of a lengthy process, and despite all the promises from frustrated U.S. voters, there are no statistical surges of immigrants into Canada every four years.

And, if you’re just totally frustrated with everything, get away from politics and vote in a much more important poll being run by E! Online. It’s the age-old question for our generation: Team Edward, or Team Jacob? You decide!!

Happy Election Day, collegiettes!
