dailylog34Its funny how after you get through a tough time, you always expect that to be the end of it, but then you’re greeted by the nice reality of aftermath.

Yesterday I worked out super hard to compensate for my rough week of having too much to do to exercise. I even put off doing homework to make sure I got my exercising in.

Unfortunately, I still gained a pound this weigh-in though. But honestly, I didn’t let it get me down that much. A pound is just a pound. My clothes are still literally falling off and my friends can’t stop complimenting me on how great I look. I definitely feel more toned too (thanks, Jillian Michaels).

I’ll just have to make sure I stay really focused this week. I know it’ll be hard, but it’ll be worth it. One thing I’m going to be doing differently is move up to Level 2 of the 30-day shred.  I’m hoping to couple the 20-minute workout with another one so I’ll get a full 45 minutes to an hour of cardio.

I also learned an important lesson the other day. I tried so hard to eat lighter than usual to compensate for the piece of cake and the healthier-but-not-super-healthy version of lasagna. However, by the time late-night homework came around—I was starving! Late night snacking is definitely a no-no during dieting so I definitely found myself in a pickle.

When I was grumbling about being hungry with some friends at my boyfriend’s house, one of Addison’s roommates who is an exercise science major gave me a mini-lecture on how instead of losing weight, ignoring being hungry will make me gain weight. Guess he was right!

So here’s to a week of doing it right. Exercise first. Eating healthy and staying full. No cutting corners.

It’s a new week, and I’m ready for it! One little pound won’t get me down.  Besides, I’ve got the Jump Start Diet to back me up.
