Cardi B & Offset’s Baby Girl Is Finally Here

Cardi B announced on Instagram today that her and Offset’s daughter has made her way into the world! Kulture Kiari Cephus, a name chosen by Offset (whose real name is Kiari Cephus), according to PEOPLE, was born on July 10.

Cardi B’s journey to motherhood has certainly been an interesting one, with Cardi dealing with many outside opinions about her marriage and pregnancy. Cardi announced that she and Offset have been secretly married since September—a month after they publicly got engaged. This led Cardi to write on Twitter that “there are moments that I want to keep to myself” and cheekily adding, “Now since you nosey little fucks know, at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock.”

Then, Cardi was dealing with sexism from people who didn’t believe that mothers could also have successful careers. She rightfully got angry in her interview with the Breakfast Club, “It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh I feel sorry for you, oh your career is over.’ As a woman, why can’t I have both? Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? Like, why can’t I have both? I want both.”

Despite all the drama, it’s clear that Cardi is super excited and prepared to be a mom, if her extravagant baby shower is anything to go by—she flew 60 people to Atlanta just to celebrate with her!

Cardi also already knows how she’s going to mother Kulture, claiming that she is “going to tell her everything” and keep it real with her. She mimicked a potential talk with her daughter: ”‘You have a choice. I could maintain you. I could spoil you if you go to college. Or if you want to be independent, go ahead. When you a teenager and you 18, 19, you can’t get no job that pays you more than $200 a week.’”

So now that little Kulture is here, all I want is a pic of her wearing that adorable “Cardi G” John Mulaney gave her mother.

Congrats to Cardi and Offset!
