Camila Cabello Quit Fifth Harmony Without Telling the Group

You know that awkward moment when you finally tell someone you no longer want to date them? The “uncoupling” is sad, and most of the time you wish you could just skip the moment of actually telling them it’s over.

Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello just did a similar thing. The girl group announced on Twitter this morning that Cabello has quit, but instead of telling her group members personally, she sent the news through her spokesperson. Ouch.

In their statement, the band says they wish Camila well and that they will continue on as a group of four.

According to E! News, Camila’s departure isn’t a total surprise. Cabello has been releasing songs with other artists. In September, she broke down in the middle of a concert and couldn’t continue. And she candidly stated that the anxiety she experienced while on tour was worse than she thought it would be.

Cabello has been with the group since its founding in 2012. Although the remaining group members claim Fifth Harmony will stay together (unlike when 1D broke our hearts), more solo endeavors may be in the girls’ futures. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

Just a quirky fashion journalist trying to get it right!
