There’s Finally a Beauty Box for Black Women

Subscription boxes are nothing new; there’s one for just about everything you could ever want, from beauty to food. But among the countless boxes we get delivered each month, there’s one that seems to be missing—especially for women of color, it can be hard to find a box that’s perfectly catered to you. Essence Magazine saw something wrong with this and they decided to fill in this gap.

The magazine introduced the Essence BeautyBox, a subscripttion service for black women and by black women. Each box contains products carefully chosen by their beauty experts. Subscribers will get five samples per box, including products from the publication’s annual Readers Choice and Best in Black Beauty features. The best news? It’ll only set you back $15 a month.

The website boasts, “We hear your gratitude for how we celebrate your beauty, as well as your frustrations in finding a variety of products for our shades and skin tones and identifying the products that work best.” Additionally, they want to support black entrepreneurship, and each box aims to feature a product from a black-owned business.

Anybody else itching to get this box? Are you already signed up? Let us know!

Currently, her favorite show is "Hawaii Five-O". She aspires to be the next Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating rolled into one, but with a stable marriage and children. Her life will be complete once Buzzfeed creates an article titled "X Reasons why We Love Elodie". Elodie loves talking and responds to all of her emails. She would love to hear from you!
