5 New Beauty Products We’re Excited About In 2013

To most, a new year might mean a renewed gym membership and a promise to work out at least three times a week, but a new year also means new releases from beauty brands and companies. Below are five new beauty items that we couldn’t be more excited about for 2013.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm ($34) UrbanDecay.com

This Naked Skin Beauty Balm is getting great reviews for its ability to minimize pores and wrinkles immediately after application, and also lift and firm skin after 8 weeks of use. You can use this balm on its own since it does a great job of covering redness and evening out skin tones, but it can also be used as a base for foundation. For these reasons, we can’t wait to get our hands on this new face product, which can now be bought at stores like Sephora and Ulta!

L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer ($8.99) Ulta

From blemishes, to redness to dark under eye circles – this concealer can cover it all! The tip of the True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer can be used to cover small imperfections, while the sides of the crayon can be used to cover large surfaces, like around your nose and under your eyes. The formulation is the perfect balance of bendable coverage; you can build it up without getting that caked-on look that so many concealers can produce. That is why this concealer is definitely on our must-try list this year. If you’re interested in testing it out you can buy it at most Ulta and drugstore locations.

Stila Color Balm Lipstick ($22) Sephora

Many companies are releasing their versions of a lipstick-and-balm-all-in-one product. We think Stila may have hit a homerun with their Color Balm Lipstick. So frequently do lip products that promise to moisturize and provide lasting color only provide one of the benefits. However, this Stila lipstick has the pigmented color of a lipstick with the nourishment of a balm and the shine of a gloss. This product is also great, because it combines two steps to help keep your lips luscious – moisturizing and applying color. With 17 amazing colors, we cannot wait to head over to Sephora and try it!

TRESemmé Keratin Infusing Smoothing Serum ($5.29), Soap.com

This brand new (not yet released) product from TRESemmé promises to be a girl’s best friend – that is, it is a smoothing serum that eliminates frizz and fly-aways. The Keratin Infusing Smoothing Serum works and lasts because the keratin (the same chemical that is used to professionally straighten and relax hair) tames those pesky escaping strands of hair. Furthermore, this serum provides lasting shine—with all that said, how could it not be on this list? While it has not been released on the shelves of most drugstores, you can buy it on Soap.com.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask ($32), Clinique.com

Dry, flaky skin is a pain to get rid of. Try as you might to exfoliate, the next day the dryness returns. If this sounds all too familiar, then get excited about Clinique’s new Moisture Surge Overnight Mask! You can apply this mask as many nights a week as you feel necessary, and it will sink deep into your skin, soothing it and replenishing it with the moisture it needs. Furthermore, it promises to even build up moisture reserves for tomorrow, such that you will never encounter the flaky-dryness issue again! Leaving skin with a soft, dewy, and glowing finish, we think this will be a new must-have for collegiettes everywhere! Now available at most Clinique counters (in stores like Lord and Taylor or Macy’s) and online, you can try out this mask yourself!
