Fun with Food Friday! Peanut Butter Apple Wrap4/27/2012 |
Check out this versatile treat! Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or a snack—eat it anytime!
PB App Wrap with yogurt dipping sauce I love apples. They’re just so delicious in every form they come in. Whether it’s applesauce, apple butter, apple pie, apple juice, or apple cider, they are all amazing. I especially love apple slices with peanut butter. The Peanut Butter Apple Wrap is filled with warm, gooey peanut butter and apple goodness.

Fun With Food Friday! Faux Frostys4/20/2012 |
Craving a chocolate Frosty? Don’t go on a Wendy’s trip. Instead, make your own. This is a must-try! Frostys are so delicious, but they also have so much added sugar. I found a great recipe online for a homemade guilt-free version of the Frosty. Check it out!
My first Faux Frosty! Yum!

Fun with Food Friday! Pita Pizza4/13/2012 |
Craving Pizza? Don’t reach for your cell phone. Instead, make your own.
Pita Pizza Last semester, I bought a bag of pita rounds and ran out of things to do with all of the pita. Eventually, I decided to use the pita like premade pizza dough. Then I thought, if I’m already using whole wheat pita instead of pizza dough, I might as well choose some healthier options for the rest of the ingredients. I chose pesto sauce in place of pizza sauce, part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese in place of whole milk shredded mozzarella cheese, and diced tomatoes in place of pepperoni slices. Because I love this dish so much, I just knew I needed to share it with our Her Campus Towson readers.

Fun With Food Friday! Grape Grahams4/6/2012 |
My first try at grape grahams! I came across this snack idea over Spring Break while surfing through Lauren Conrad’s website. I knew right away that I had to try it. It sounded quick, easy, tasty, and healthy! I always have graham crackers, cream cheese and grapes in my kitchen so it couldn’t have been easier. My first thought when trying this snack for the first time was, “Wow, that’s so different.” With such an interesting mix of ingredients, I should have expected the taste to be equally interesting. The taste of cream cheese and graham crackers does not stand out as much as the grapes. Instead, they come together to create their own distinct flavor, which was so yummy! Note: this snack is very filling. So I suggest eating 2 or 3 squares at a time. |
Facebook Etiquette3/6/2011 |
Do you constantly shake your head in disappointment while looking through your Facebook Newsfeed wishing these “friends” of yours knew which information to keep to themselves and which to make public? I know I do. There are certain annoying patterns Facebook users seem to fall into while on the site that becomes irksome to other users. You know what I’m talking about; things like people making out with their significant others in half the pictures they put up on Facebook, people posting an unnecessarily large amount of statuses (several per day), underage drinkers posting pictures of themselves partying way too hard (remember future employers are watching…and possibly some nosy relatives), etc. Because of this, I thought maybe we could all use a reminder of how to maintain a certain etiquette while enjoying our favorite social network. 1. Only Post Statuses That Can Be Considered At Least Somewhat Entertaining This means no posting itineraries. Not only do your friends not care what you’re doing throughout the day, but Facebook is the stalker social network . Do you really want to inform everyone where you are during the day when people already know clearly way too much about you? I didn’t think so. Also, itinerary posts are boring. No one wants to see, “school. work. home,” when stalking your page. Helpful Hint: if no one is “liking” or commenting on your statuses, there’s a reason. “I became [Facebook] friends with a girl so that we could contact each other about our classes. Now I know everything she is doing at every minute of the day. Not okay.” -Catherine Burke 2. Don’t Harass Friends With Farmville and other Game Application Requests |
Dance Department Senior Major's Performance- Inner Journey, Outer Expression2/25/2011 |
Looking for something different to do this weekend to change up your typical shopping-homework-party routine? The senior dance majors of Towson University’s Dance Department can give you exactly what you’re looking for with their performance Inner Journey Outer Expression. Who: Towson University Dance Department What: Inner Journey, Outer Expression When: Tonight, Feburary 25th at 7:30 p.m. Tomorrow, Feburary 26th at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Where: Center for the Arts Dance Studio Theater Price: Students $5, General Admission $15 After attending the preview performance last night, I highly recommended attending. All of these pieces are considered to be in progress (there will be a Dance Majors Performance Project in May for the final works), yet they were danced beautifully. Each piece is choreographed by a senior dance major. Many of the pieces were quite moving. I’ll be the first to admit that I got teary-eyed at several points. Who can really blame me when the choreographers acquired their inspiration from the crisis in Cairo, the earthquake in Haiti, the Vietnam War, and even the passing of a loved one? The entire performance was not all tragedy and tears though. The dancers would have the entire audience laughing at points (with them, not at them). |
