Delta Delta Delta Virgin Cocktail Party

3/2/2012

The ladies of Delta Delta Delta present their annual Virgin Cocktail Party fundraiser on Monday March 5th from 8 - 11 pm. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will be divided between a local Toronto charity, SickKids Foundation, and the TriDelta-wide charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In 2006 TriDelta committed to raising $10 million in 10 years for St. Jude’s and instead managed to raise $10.4 million in 4! TriDelta’s current goal is to raise $15 million for St. Jude in 5 years.

The event will be centered around a Casino theme, with delicious mocktails, games, a 50-50 draw, and a silent auction at our 30 Madison Avenue home. Silent auction bids go on all night, with great chances to win yoga classes, movie tickets, gift baskets and much more! Why not come out to help TriDelta support these two amazing children’s cancer research hospitals!

Free F’all Sundays Open Mic Nights at Supermarket

1/19/2012

When: Every Sunday, 8pm
Where: Supermarket, 268 Augusta Avenue

Toronto has an amazing music scene and it is definitely something that should be taken advantage of while you are here. One way to do that is to check out Free F’all Sundays at Supermarket. Supermarket, located in Kensington Market, is a restaurant/bar/music venue that is host to a free open mic night every Sunday from 8 pm onwards. It is the perfect low key activity for live music lovers who want to avoid spending a fortune on concert tickets. You can expect to see some incredible performances by some of Toronto’s most talented musicians. With an average of about 30-50 different performers every week who among themselves represent an eclectic range of musical styles (everything from reggae, to indie folk, to freestyle rapping), there is bound to be something for everyone.  The atmosphere is casual and friendly, meaning you can either mingle with your favourite acts of the night or just keep to yourself as you enjoy the show. So if you fancy hitting the town once more before Monday kicks in, or think you might like to take to the stage yourself, why not head over to the Supermarket this Sunday to get the most out of your weekend.

The first thing you’ll do after your last final this term is: Crack a beer before leaving the exam centre & jump on a plane to Victoria.
