MASS EDMC's Winter White Tour - Alesso, Otto Knows, Kaeno

Girls: Returning to HBO January 13 at 9 PM

This January the amazing HBO series ‘Girls’ will returning for it’s second season. Last season Girls was nominated for 5 Emmy’s and everyone and their mom is expecting another amazing season. Girls, if you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, follows four newly graduated women in New York City. The issues they face are honest and relatable for any twenty-something-girl. From struggling to find a job during the recession to hookups so awkward you can’t do anything but laugh and cover your eyes in embarrassment. Girls portrays real life so accurately you end up falling in love with each of the characters.  One thing Girls is not is Sex in the City. The sex scenes are not glamorous, and they are not discussing Manolo Blahnik shoes but instead issues like abortion, how to pay for rent and

This season we find Hannah (played by the writer of the series Lena Dunham) trying to find the “kind, sexy, responsible boyfriend” she’s always wanted, a “deflowered” Shoshanna, a single and lost Marnie and a newly married Jessa.

Now if your as excited as I am for January 13, you’re going to need something to hold you over. I have two wonderful (not as wonderful as the new season-but work with me here) to hold you over for the next month.

Campus Celebrity: Joey Goldstein

Joey Goldstein is a busy UMass Student. He majors in Communication, plays and referees intramural sports, volunteers at the Amherst Cinema and, if that wasn't enough for a senior he is also involved with Not Ready for Bedtime Players. Not Ready for Bedtime Players (if you for some odd reason don't remember...) are the hysterical sex-ed skits presented at oreintation for incoming students and throughout the year in the dorms. Joey's been involved with this incredible group for 3 years and worked at summer orientations for the past 2. Every Wednesday they get together and educate UMass students about sex and making safe decisions through skits that will make you laugh but more importantly think. Here's a little more about your campus celeb Joey and Not Ready for Bedtime Players! (P.S. Ladies, Joey is single!)

Campus Celebrity: DJ FAH-Q

“If Peter Clark doesn’t watch himself he may end up being the next President of the United States one day.” –Barstool Sports

Who is Peter Clark you ask? Whether you’re a freshmen or a senior and if you go out on the weekends chances are you’ve been to a party with Peter Clark aka DJ FAH-Q.  FAH-Q can always be found DJing with the best equipment from Musician's Friend at the most epic parties around the UMass campus. It may be at a quad party, a tailgate, or house party-if you find the party with Peter, chances are in your favor to have an amazing night. Barstool Sports wrote an article about him last fall and referred to him as a "UMass hero" which many UMass students strongly agree with (you can read the Barstool article in full, here). FAH-Q also opened up for MiM0SA at Pearl Street in Northampton this past October and was also on the decks at Mesiba’s insane open bar night at Monkey. He defines what it means to be a campus celebrity, here’s a little more about DJ FAH-Q.

How did you become involved with DJing?:
I actually remember a specific party where I basically commandeered the music with my own iPod. That was the first time I realized that people enjoyed my taste in party music. The whole party loved pretty much every song I played. It was then that I decided to get into DJing.
