Everyone has an item in their wardrobe that they can rely on to make them feel good, whether it be the perfect pair of jeans or the blazer that will smarten up any outfit. We have fashion staples that we know suits us, and obviously everyone’s go-to item will be different, depending on size, shape, and general style. Celebrities are the same, and it is often the same recycled looks that they become known for and associated with that have made them become fashion icons.
As Editor-In-Chief of American Vogue, and arguably the pinnacle of the entire fashion industry, it would be wrong not to include Anna Wintour and her trademark sunglasses. She is rarely seen without them, whether she is outside, inside, day or night, in rain or shine. Her classic preference tends to be round, black Chanel frames, and her iconic look – complete with pageboy bob haircut – has become almost as legendary as the empire she has spent decades building in the fashion industry. In an interview with 60 Minutes, when asked why she wears them even inside, she replied: “They are seriously useful. I can sit in a show and if I am bored out of my mind, nobody will notice… At this point, they have become, really, armour.” Stylish and practical.
