Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys
Recently, I realized that all the guys in my life (with the exception of my male family members) are gay. I love all of them dearly, but I'm single, and wouldn't mind getting into a relationship. But it seems I only attract guy friends who are interested in guys. What should I do?
Hi Doll,
Well, it's pretty safe to hang out with your gay husbands, isn't it? I used to have lots of "best" friends who were guys, and these guys also had girlfriends. It was more comfortable for me to be close with them than to consider jumping off the cliff of my own vulnerability into a relationship of my own. You're asking me what you should do, but I think you know what to do. Stop hiding behind your best gays and start standing out on your own cliff. Are there any guys you are interested in or attracted to? Plan a party and invite some friends over (gay and straight), and ask them to each bring a single friend. Ask someone to study together or go to a yoga class and see how it goes.
The most powerful thing you can do in any situation is realign your thoughts and intentions, and I hear the sincerity in your desire. I think some minor tweaks will do wonders for you and your path will start to cross with potential suitors in unexpected ways. Just stay open, curious, passionate and confident. Let me know how it goes!
All my love,
Ali
