What do you do in your spare time?
I play basketball, go to the gym, cut hair, keep up to date with fashion, and, sadly, do homework.

Where is your favorite spot to go in S.F.?
I like going to Haight. The fashion is really cool and I love the vibe. I also like going to the Mission District because it is prominently Latin American Culture. Since I am Latin American, I like to visit and be surrounded by that. When I have time, I like going to the Golden Gate Bridge because it’s iconic and beautiful.

You said you are Latin American, what ethnicity are you?
I am Nicaraguan. It’s located between Costa Rica and Honduras. I speak fluent Spanish with Nicaraguan accent.

How do you stay fit?
I play basketball and I go to the gym regularly. I played basketball all through high school and I really enjoy it. When I am at the gym, I lift weights and run on the treadmill when I don’t play basketball.

What do you look for in a girl?
I look for intelligence above all. A girl’s eyes definitely attract me first, but I also look for charisma, humor, a good sense of fashion, and taller girls because I am 5’11. I like girls who are beautiful on the inside rather than on the outside.

Describe your perfect date.
As long as she is there that is perfect for me. I really just want to enjoy her company. If I had to pick a perfect date, I would like to treat her to whatever she wanted. I like to treat my dates and make them happy.

Why did you choose the pre-med track?
I’ve been told that the key to happiness in life is your health, and I’d love to help people maintain their happiness. And as my good friend Jack Silva puts it, “I just don’t want to be a suit.”

What is the worst class you have taken for your major?
Pharmacology was the hardest, but it was awesome.

What do you like to do in your spare time when you’re not studying?
Hang with friends
Go to the beach
Travel

Are you attracted to girls in the pre-med majors? Of course.

Describe your perfect date.
I’d find a sunny little cove on the beach, maybe in Croatia, and spend the day snorkeling, floating, and relaxing with my dream girl with some Kenny Chesney playing in the background to help us get to our happy place.

Describe your perfect girl.
I’d love a beautiful family oriented girl from a mixed background who has the ability to find joy and appreciation in everything she encounters in life. It would be a huge bonus if she was into traveling.

What do you do in your spare time?
When I’m not at school or busy I surf and play bass guitar. I also like to roam the city with my friends.

How do you stay fit?
Surfing keeps me pretty fit but I also like to do some swimming, a bit of running, and weights. When I’m back in Newport I paddle my paddleboard around the bay.

What are your likes/dislikes about living in San Francisco?
I like that everyone is very friendly and easy to talk to. I have met a lot of friendly people that I genuinely get along with. I dislike the hills -walking up them can get annoying.

What do you look for in a girl?
I typically look for a blonde or a brunette who is easy-going and funny. I like girls who can be independent and do something in their free time that they are passionate about (like me). A good personality stands out more than looks.

What are your pet-peeves?
It gets on my nerves when people don’t say ‘please and thank you.” Also, I dislike it when people bite their nails, burp out-loud, and chew with their mouth open.

What is a deal breaker when on a date?
If I had to name five things that are deal breakers they would have to be:
1. Burping out loud.
2. Not being able to hold a conversation (how are we supposed to date if I can’t talk to you).
3. Talking about your ex.
4. Texting at the table.
5. Doesn’t laugh at my cheesy jokes.

This week’s Cutie is a true California sweetheart with looks to match. If that’s not enough, he’s got some impressive moves…on the football field, that is! He wowed the Patriot League and earned Rookie of the Year, and he’ll be sure to earn a top spot in your heart.

What do you do on campus?
I play defensive back for the football team.
Though football is very time-consuming, it doesn’t affect his love for the game – his favorite place on campus in the football field.
It’s my sanctuary, the one place where I can let loose and be a goon.

Celebrity crush?
Mila Kunis and Kate Beckinsale
But don’t worry, ladies, you don’t need to be an A-list celebrity to woo this Cutie; he’s a down-to-earth guy who appreciates a natural girl.

Things he looks for in a girl
A girl that takes care of herself, nice smile, confidence, a girl that’s genuine

Turn-offs
Stage 5’s (clingers beware!), cockiness, bad laugh

Plan a date anywhere…?
My plans would depend on the girl, everyone is different and likes different things. Once I know what she’s into/not into I’d plan a date that we both would enjoy. It could be anything from a laid-back movie night or picnic to a skydive.

Currently, this cutie is not tied down, but no matter where his date is, his lucky lady is sure to have a great time with fascinating conversation; he definitely has some interesting things to talk about.

3 fun facts:

  1. I lost my first tooth at the top of the Eiffel tower
  2. I’ve played the guitar for 8 years, my Ovation’s name is Gabriela-Cleopatra
  3. I’m a Cali boy and love outdoor extreme sports (dirt biking, jet skiing, wake boarding, bungee jumping, rock climbing)

What is a typical weekend like for you?
When I’m not working it’s all about exploring the city, from Fisherman’s Wharf to Japantown. I like to be out and about. I also play basketball, football, and coach volleyball at a local high school.

If a genie granted you 3 wishes what would they be?
That’s a tough question. Off the top of my head, psycho-kinetic super powers, wealth, and I would pocket my last wish in case I am ever in a jam that money or super powers can’t solve.

What do you look for in a girl?
Someone who is open to anything. It’s nice to go out and party but I also want a girl who thinks staying in and ordering a pizza and watching a movie is a great time too. Someone who appreciates the little things, not just the grand gestures -like buying her flowers, cooking her breakfast, taking care of her when she’s sick, or finding every excuse to spend time with her.

What do you want to do after college?
I’m a cinema major and I am very good at post-production visual effects. I’d love to work on Hollywood movies someday. My goal would be to see a movie project I worked on appear on the big screen.

What is your idea of the perfect date?
I’m very traditional. I think seeing a movie and then going to a nice restaurant afterward is a great date. If it’s the first date things can get awkward. So seeing a movie gives you guys some common ground to start with when you’re forced to make small talk in a dinner setting. A perfect date leads to another one. I don’t date for sport. I do it to find someone special.

What is your favorite food?
I get weird cravings for some things, like I was addicted to baked potatoes last month, but when it comes down to it, the good old fashioned American hamburger. Not a fast food kind, a 5-star restaurant quality kind.

What’s your ideal weekend?
Friday: No class, hit the mountain with some friends, eat out for dinner, and then go out with some friends; Saturday: Go to the beach all day to ride Mx, and surf. Maybe a little rock climbing, then come home and
go to a reggae concert on a double date with my buddy Conor, and then maybe go out after; Sunday: Up decently early, no homework, go for a sick hike, workout, go skydiving, then unwind. That sounds about right.

What would be your ideal girlfriend?
Has the prettiest eyes, is athletic, and is smarter than I am! But she also needs to be able to hold down a good conversation.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be an account planner in advertising. An account planner is the person who makes all the unlikely connections likely. They are literally told to have fun, to be enthusiastic, and go out and experience new things. Sounds fine by me.

Most exciting thing I’ve ever done:
I’ve done a lot of crazy shit over the years, but
skydiving was on a whole new level for some reason!

Cat or Dog person:
I love both, but kitties always love me for some reason.

Favorite sports to watch or play:
I like to play golf, ski, rock climb, run, and long board. I only really follow Duck football and the Portland Trailblazers.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure chick flick?
Ummmmmmm… I never really watched any chick flicks growing up, I think I saw The Notebook one time though!

What is your favorite hobby?
I love to snowboard. Love it.

How would you describe yourself in three words? I’m pretty chill.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I was thrown through a window once. That was pretty crazy.

What is the last movie that made you cry?
Ha. Toy Story 3. Oh I choked up a little during The Notebook once… but just choked up.

What is your favorite TV show?
I’m really addicted to How I Met Your Mother right now. That’s really funny. Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Siegel are really funny in that. And the girl from American Pie is pretty cute too.

How would you describe your ideal date?
Laid-back and low maintenance. I’m a simple guy and I like simple things. Anything that is just fun and simple. Something that involves food is always good.

Are there any specific qualities you look for in a girl?
Looks are what draw you in, but the personality and sense of humor are what make you stay. And a good cook – a good cook is very important.

What are the biggest turnoffs when it comes to girls?
I really hate fake laughs and cake faces. Too much makeup just looks unnatural.

What confuses you about girls?
What doesn’t?

Who do you have a man crush on?
James Franco. What a stellar dude. He’s a freaking genius.

Any advice for the freshmen girls?
Have a good time but don’t make a fool of yourself. Just take it easy and you’ll win. Oh… and always watch your drink!

What are your three most beloved food items? Why?
I cannot survive without hot dogs. I’ve been a baseball fanatic since I was one.

What is your favorite time of the year?
Spring because it’s baseball season, and everything is more beautiful, especially in Oregon. The trees are in bloom, and so are the flowers, and the animals are out…I don’t know, everything about spring is just better!

How do you generally spend your weekends?
Relaxing with friends. I have really busy weeks, so on the weekends, it’s nice to hang out and not do much. We try to be active. There’s a park a couple of blocks from our house, so we like to go there and play basketball a lot.

What are your parents like?
Well, I’m a momma’s boy because my mom was really caring and nurturing when I was growing up. My mom’s a teacher, and my dad is a workers’ compensation attorney. My dad is the kind of guy who you would see carrying us around in baby backpacks on his stomach. I’m definitely a lot more like my mom, but as I grow up, I realize all of the different traits I’ve gotten from both of them. There’s a lot of love in my family.

What turns you on? Off?
Spontaneity turns me on, but a girl that’s too easy is a huge turn off. It’s also the worst thing when you see a really cute girl who has a great style, but then she pulls out a cigarette.

Who do you envy?
I envy Will Smith because he’s talented in so many ways. He’s one of the funniest actors I’ve seen, and he also has an amazing family, and he’s successful. Someday I hope to be successful too.

What would be harder for you: to tell someone that you love her or to tell someone that you don’t love her back?
At this point, it would be harder for me to tell someone that I love her because I’m pretty reserved when it comes to that just because of relationships that I’ve had in the past.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Working somewhere in Texas because it has the best sports market and one of the cheapest real estate markets right now. I feel like I would fit in to the southern lifestyle because I don’t like to worry, and I feel like I’m a pretty outgoing person.

Any last words of wisdom?
Sometimes, thinking is out of the question – you just have to act.
