North West Uploaded A Hair Tutorial On TikTok & I’m Influenced

I’m not being a “pick me” when I say this, but I am not easily influenced. Kim K’s mullet ponytail has yet to find its way onto my head, and I still haven’t bought those viral Bloom greens on TikTok. However, this streak is about to come to an end. The culprit? None other than North West.

On Nov. 5, Kim Kardashian’s oldest daughter, North West, posted a video on her mother-daughter TikTok account, @kimandnorth. The account is full of the duo doing fun challenges, hopping on trends, and making silly and innocent videos. However, this video — a hair tutorial — seems to be North’s first introduction to the social media world. Consider me influenced.

Okay, so the video is filmed… uniquely. Judging by the speed-up function on half of North’s videos, it’s safe to say that the girl loves taking things to a higher tempo. But, TBH, that’s the reason why so many of us — it has over 44 million views — are obsessed with it. Oh, and did I mention that “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is playing the entire time? She’s just like me, forreal.

North starts out by waving her favorite products in front of the camera before diving into her curly hair routine. (Spoiler alert: these products are like, actually affordable.) After applying conditioners, mousses, and the TIGI Bed Head Headrush Spray (Amazon, $15) on her wet hair, North goes in with a rattail comb (Amazon, $6) to create a chic side part. After her hair is parted, North uses the Eco Style Olive Oil Gel (Ulta, $4) on her part and throughout her hair to keep her curls intact — literally taking notes for my own curly hair RN.

From there, North lightly brushes through her hair to distribute the product before spraying some water on her hair to reactivate the product. She then uses more gel, and the Baby Tress Edge Styler (Baby Tress, $15) to lay down her edges. Then, we see her mom hopping in to pull her hair into a sleek low ponytail. North adds a bit more gel and, voila! A nine-year-old can do hair better than me.

North finishes the video by jamming out for another 10 seconds, which I shamelessly bobbed my head to. But, jokes aside — as a curly-hair girl, I’m interested in trying out North’s faves for myself! The products are inexpensive, accessible, and seem to do the job. Okay, Kardashian family, you got me this time.
