Elite Models Just Signed Their First Trans, Black and Disabled Model & She’s Already Landed Her First Magazine Cover

Glass ceilings are always hard to destroy, but teen model Aaron Philip is breaking barriers with grace and beauty. She was recently signed to modeling agency Elite Models, a gig she earned herself through Instagram. After posting with positive affirmations about her future modeling career, scouts from the agency discovered her. As the agency’s first black, disabled, trans female model, she is already inspiring people around the world to shine as their authentic selves and be willing to embrace their wildest dreams and passions.

After announcing her signing on Twitter on September 1st, Philip has already landed her first magazine cover and done photo shoots with websites like Vice. She became the cover star of a recent issue of Isis Nicole Magazine, a publication which aims to “provide a space for creatives at the forefront of making honest, exciting, and beautiful changes in the world. Each issue gives a glimpse of humanity behind fashion, music, and art,” according to their website.

The cover features Philip practically radiating joy, and part of that joy for the viewer arises from her confidence and authenticity. Being unique is something to be celebrated, and we love that she’s inspiring (and killing the modeling game while she’s at it). We’re excited to see more of her work in the future, and hopefully more modeling agencies and magazines will embrace the idea that beautiful models look more than one way and represent different communities.

Inclusivity should be a priority in all areas of society, and modeling, fashion, and beauty industries should continue to be leaders on the path to an inclusive world.
