5 Cozy Essentials to Add to Your Winter Wardrobe

Every winter, I am torn between the decision to dress warm or to dress cute. As someone who loves buying dresses and skirts, my closet is better suited for sunny California than the icy East Coast I reside on. This year, I am making it my mission to incorporate more cozy, cute pieces into my wardrobe.

Getting dressed on a cold winter day typically makes me want to bury myself under my blankets forever, but adding cute coats and sweaters to my closet has made me actually look forward to winter dressing. Below, get some winter ‘fit inspo to get you through the next few months.

Knit hats

There’s nothing like a cozy hat to defend against winter chill. While my family makes fun of my chunky knit hat (see above), I’m happy to defend it. The thick yarn keeps my head nice and toasty. This one comes in a gorgeous shade of aqua and will keep you warm all season long.

Furry coats

Your mom was right when she told you to put on a warm coat. Luckily for you, there are endless options out there for a coat that will keep you warm without clashing with your outfit. This season, I’ve been loving my bear coat because it’s super soft and easy to throw on with a casual look.

Fuzzy socks

Fuzzy socks are a winter essential — you can never have too many! They’re great for staying cozy while lounging at home or for layering under your favorite winter boots while you’re out in the snow. Old Navy has my favorites!

Chic turtlenecks

The turtlenecks your mom forced you to wear in middle school have made a chic comeback. Whether you opt for a chunky knit sweater or a thinner layering piece, the extra neck coverage makes a world of difference in terms of warmth. I love to layer my trusty black turtleneck under my favorite camis and dresses.

Warm tights

Keeping your legs covered is essential for fighting off cold winds. Winterize your favorite dresses or skirts by throwing on a pair of tights underneath. Life hack: layer a pair of nude tights underneath any pair for an undetectable extra layer of warmth.

Freeze in the name of fashion no more. This season, add some cozy essentials to your wardrobe to make any outfit winter appropriate. After all, who said you can’t be cute and cozy at the same time?
