Not going away for Spring Break this year? Here’s a list of ideas so your staycation isn’t just you in bed, scrolling through TikTok (but you still can in fact make time to do just that)!

Camping/Hiking

Whether you want to do it indoors in your living room, with your family and/or friends, or just in the backyard, camping is always a fun way to spice up a night or two of a boring week. If its inside, you don’t even need the usual camping gear and you don’t need to buy new hiking boots if you have it outside! Make some food, watch a movie, or you can in fact find some local trails and camping spots and head into the woods, but still stay close to home.

Hotel/Motel/Airbnb

Along with camping, if you want to take it to the next level, get a cheap hotel or an Airbnb in your city so it can feel like you’ve gone away, but you really haven’t. Why do this instead of staying home? Just an option to change up your usual scenery and relax somewhere different!

At Home Spa

Pinterest or TikTok some at-home spa ideas, maybe even a homemade facemask- and you can have a relaxing getaway in the comfort of your own home. Light some candles or burn some incense, play your favorite music and just lay down! Relaxing in a plush bathrobe, and if you don’t have one, you can go to your local store and get one for (hopefully!) cheap. Just another way to spend your break, rejuvenating from the first half of the Spring semester.

Local Attractions

Even if you have, but especially if haven’t, visit your local museums and/pr historical landmarks. There are ones known nationally, but what about the town you live in? Whether you went away for college, or you stayed in the same city/state, it’s nice to learn more about the culture and traditions that have made your city what it is today! Invite friends along, and maybe make a challenge of it! First to find the oldest building in the city wins!

Get Back Into Your Projects

If you’re like me, you have a hundred and one projects that you’ve started but never got to finish. Write the ending to that short story, finish knitting that blanket- it could be anything! Or, pick up a new hobby as well! Maybe there’s a book you’ve been wanting to read, or you could step out of your comfort zone and try something you wouldn’t usually do. It’s Spring break, anything is possible!

Just Relax

Finally, anything you find relaxing – just do it! Maybe you don’t want anything on your schedule so you can scroll through TikTok for hours, and you should! Or just sleep in since you don’t have that 8am for a few days; stay up all night watching movies instead of the usual studying for some exam! It’s time for a BREAK and we all deserve one! So catch up on your favorite shows and just enjoy the free time you have.
