Dealing with a break up is not easy – it may even take months to recover and get used to the life without him. It’s totally fine to be grieved, but don’t let it bother you for too long. If the relationship wasn’t meant to be, then why put yourself through a long period of sadness? Here’s a guide that may help you get over your break up and always keep in mind – the next one will be better.
1. Change up your life a bit.
Changing your room decorations or even small readjustments such as moving furniture may change your mood. Considering enrolment in yoga classes or hitting the gym can also be a great refresher! New routines will help you get your mind off of him and it may even lead you to a new interest.
2. Spend a lot of time outside.
We all know when we’re sitting at home with nothing to do, all we think about is him and all the past memories. Don’t put yourself in the situation and call out some friends to hangout instead. When you’re out spending time with friends, or even by yourself, you will start to realize that life is fine without him.
3. Crying helps.
Crying doesn’t mean you’re weak and it actually could help you feel better. Don’t repress your feelings because it’ll just make you feel worse.
4. Unfriend him on social media.
You don’t need that occasional reminder of him on Facebook while you’re recovering from the break up. Especially if he doesn’t care much about the relationship, seeing his updates will just hurt you more. Since the relationship already ended, there’s no need for you to still see posts and pictures related to him, it’s time to move on.
5. Avoid posting anything emotional on social media.
If he was a horrible boyfriend and you’re feeling emotional, we all have the tendency of wanting the world to know. Don’t let your emotions take over your life because 99% of the time when you post something on social media while you’re sad or angry, you’ll regret it later.
6. Don’t hope.
Having hopes that the two of you will get back together is the worst thing to do while you’re trying to get over him. If you keep believing that there might be a chance of getting back together, then you’ll be stuck in that position and you won’t be able to move on.
