Meet Kendall Polan, the captain of the Yale Volleyball Team! The team just won their fourth Ivy League Championship in a row, and Kendall has been a vital part of the team for every win during her Yale career. The volleyball bulldogs are getting ready to compete in the NCAA championships, so squeezed in a quick interview with Kendall to ask about their amazing season!

What is it like to win four ivy league championships?

It’s been an amazing experience. I feel really lucky to have been given the opportunity to play with such talented girls for the last four years.

What challenges have you faced over the past four years in volleyball?

My freshman year we started the season out 2-2.  After losing to both Penn and Princeton we thought we weren’t going to be able to win Ivies.  We worked really hard and ended up winning the next ten straight matches, beating both Penn and Princeton and eventually winning the Ivy League!

When did you start playing volleyball?

I started playing when I was 12 years old.

What else are you involved in besides Volleyball?

I’ve been apart of the Kiputh Leadership Academy since sophomore year.  It’s been a great experience and something I really value.

Why did you choose to come to Yale?

I came on my unofficial and the team was so welcoming. I took a tour of the campus and fell in love with the Gothic architecture.  As cliche as this sounds, I just had a really good feeling about the school.

What will you miss most about Yale?

I’ll miss the sense of community Yale provides and the people I’ve met over the last few years.
