5 Make-up Tips That Will Make You Look Awesome In Less Than 5 Minutes!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Yale chapter.

Attending college, next to being the most fun and exciting episode of your life, is probably also one of the most stressful and busiest times you have experienced so far. You are constantly on the run, from this class to the next, trying to fit in all sorts of meetings in your daily schedule that is already swamped with classes, studying and events 24/7. With little time left at all for any excessive make up/beauty rituals, this little guide to apply a flawless make-up in less than 5 minutes will not only help you to be on time for class, but also will make you look gorgeous for the whole day!

Step 1: Essential for a good make up is smooth and natural looking skin. Just apply a tinted primer or moisturizer to even out your skintone and make your skin look slightly glowy and awake. I particularly love the Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch by Clarins.

Step 2: Cover any blemishes and red spots on your face with a concealer under your eyes and round your nose. Some great products are the Touche Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent or the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer by Estee Lauder.

Step 3: The probably most important step for any collegiette, who has morning classes: Make your eyes look wide-awake. Just curl your lashes and apply mascara, leaving your lashes separated and creating drama by using intensely black mascara, such as They’re Real! Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics or the Babydoll Mascara by Yves Saint Laurent.

Step 4: Let your skin glow! By adding blush to your cheeks, your face will look more alive in seconds. A great product is the Blush/Bronzer Duo by NARS.

Step 5: Use lipstick or lip-gloss to enhance your natural lip color by dotting a pigment-heavy lip color in the center of your lips. Then roll the color out to the edges and blend it with your fingertip. If you want a stronger finish, just use more color. Ideal is the Lip Glacé by Laura Mercier for a nude look, and Gloss Volupté by Yves Saint Laurent for a bolder finish.

Oh wow, you are done and yes, you still have enough time to be on time for class AND grab a coffee at Starbucks on the way there!
