I Bought Deep Sea Cosmetics for You

Raise your hand if you’re a colliegette who likes to take care of her nails. Now raise your hand if you’ve ever been stopped by the Deep Sea Cosmetics kiosk at the mall and politely declined their offer, apologies, but I have to get going and I’m not interested. We’ve all been there. I like to keep my nails long, natural, and as healthy as possible. I feel lucky to have my nails, and the associates at the kiosk must feel just as lucky that I have a special connection with them as well. This time around I let them test their products on me, and while there was a price haggle (and a sale offer) I finally broke and thought why not? I bought a Deep Sea Cosmetics nail care kit and I’m here to tell you all about it.

The Purchase

More energy went into buying the product than the actual sample nail they did. Once she thought she got me, she came in quick by saying a regular kit sells for $120, but she would sell one for $50. I declined the offer and she came back offering me three kits, one for me, one for mom, one for a sister (Christmas gifts!) for $60. All three, $59.99, what a deal. I again declined and she offered just one for $30. While getting two for $60 plus a free kit would have been the better deal, I didn’t have that much money. I liked the results, so I bought one kit at the low price with the promise to come back for their facial products next.

The Product

That night I immediately did all of my nails, and I love the results. I buffed, oiled, and lotioned up my nails and hands and almost a week later they still look fantastic. My nail beds feel soft to the touch (in fact I can’t stop touching!), my cuticles have only been a fraction dry of what they used to be, and the shine is crazy. It’s like using clear polish without painting your nails. The hand lotion that comes with it was claimed to keep your hands soft for up to ten hours. While I stop keeping track after a few, the smell is fantastic and makes me feel ready for my day. My hands feel nice, and while I’ve never had a manicure, I imagine this is what it feels like.

The Verdict

Final thoughts? I highly recommend. Kiosks often have a negative stigma, but they do sell legitimate products that so far work like they’re supposed to. The associates seem in your face, but they most likely have a quota to meet. Let them do one of your nails, and do yourself a favor if you do your own nails, buy a kit. There are added bonuses too! The buffer alone costs $30, and when you find it’s stopped working bring it in and they’ll replace it for free forever. Run out of your cuticle oil too? They’ll replace that as well for no charge. I won’t say it’s magic, but it’s magic.
