What’s it like being a peer leader? Do you enjoy it?

Being a peer leader is a great opportunity for me to give back to my school and to help incoming freshman with adjusting to college life. I remember as a freshman it was hard at first, but having an upperclassman to guide me really helped. I knew I wanted to be a peer leader to help make the school a welcoming atmosphere for freshman. I really enjoy being a peer leader and am excited to meet my new freshman for next year.

What’s your job on the athletic board?

The Student Athletic Advisory board meets every few months to discuss issues regarding the athletic department and devises plans or goals to meet during the year. It is my job to be the voice of the student body because I am one of two students on the committee.

Your majors are pretty different from each other; why did you pick them?

I love math and business, so when I took my first accounting class at Xavier I knew immediately that I wanted to major in accounting. But one of my greatest passions in life is sports, so I knew that getting a major in sports management as well would be the best of two worlds. It is nice to have a business background and be able to do what I love with sports as well.

What’s your favorite thing about Xavier?

My favorite thing about Xavier is the community and environment of the school. Even though we are a D1 school, I feel that it is a very close-knit community and I love how every time I walk to class I see people I know and feel like I am a part of a family.
