Things to do Before 2016!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WWU chapter.

2016 is fast approaching, but there is still a good chunk of 2015 left to enjoy! As we all head off on winter break, here are some things you can do to make your last taste of 2015 a great one!

1. Reconnect with old friends

Of course we all love our college friends, but there are always the friends that we left behind at home. Make sure to try and see them again even if it’s just once, maybe in the form of a Christmas party! It’s always great to see the people you care about again and maybe swap a few cool college stories along the way.

2. Eat out at your favorite restaurant

Being away from home can be hard. Everything can be really different when moving to college and starting over, but when you go home you can do everything you know and love again, including going to that awesome restaurant that you love at home. Make sure to eat as much of it as possible before you return to college for the 2016 school year!

3. Do something spontaneous

There’s never an improper time to do something spontaneous with your day. Completely unplanned, out of the box, and out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself and do somemthing daring. It could be something as crazy as climbing a building to something as simple giving that person you’ve never had the guts to talk to a call. It’s going to be a New Year so end the current one with a bang!

4. Make time for yourself

College is crazy stressful, especially with the closing of finals and dead week, you probably haven’t been able to give yourself a little relaxation time, or ‘you-time’. Winter break is your big opportunity! Start a new TV show, draw, write, sing, think about your new year’s resolution, etc. Winter break is a time for you to think about yourself and do whatever makes you feel good.

5. Have an awesome New Year’s Eve plan!

Remember what I said about ending 2015 with a bang? Make sure you make a New Year’s Eve plan that you’ll never forget! Have fun with your friends, dance, count-down, and party in to the New Year! It sure beats laying around on the sofa at home waiting for the ball to drop on TV. Go out and have some fun!

P.S.

When 2016 rolls around the corner don’t forget to vote!
