How would you describe your style?
Pretty casual and laid back! I’m a country girl with a bit of a city twist, and I’m all about simplicity with a plash of fashion. My style all depends on my mood when I get up in the morning: if I’m feeling good, I’ll try to dress cute, but if I wake up just not really feeling it, you can tell because I’ll be frumpy and comfortable in my sweats and sorority letters!

Where are your favorite places to shop?
Marshalls and Forever 21. Best places ever, since everything is affordable and cute. I’m all about trying to keep up with the trends and what I like, but I’m a girl with champagne taste with a beer wallet! I long for the day I can walk into Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors and buy all the big labels without worrying about the price tag, but I’ll stick to the sales racks until then!

What are some of your favorite trends right now?
That changes with the season. Because its winter right now, I’m into the big, comfy sweaters with some riding boots and jeggings, but in the spring and summertime I love maxi dresses!

If you could raid any celebrity’s closet, whose would it be and why?
I would have to say Jennifer Aniston. I feel like we have the same taste: simple, yet it has some sort of spark that I love. And even how she wears little to no makeup at all! Her style is simple, to the point, yet very fabulous to me.

If you could live in any era for its style, which would you choose?
I really like the 50s-60s era. It was a time when showing skin started to come into play, but modesty was still the way to go. I see pictures of my grandmother, and the poise that she had is breathtaking! In today’s world, women just show it all with no problem. Back then, the women made the men really wonder what they were hiding!

Would you rather splurge on jewelry, shoes, or purses?
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in September, and the only thing to help me though the scary news was shopping. I seemed to have hit a shoe splurge. Heels, sneakers, wedges, flip-flops and boots. It didn’t matter the style. If it fit me, I bought it.

What is the process you go through when selecting an outfit?
It all depends on where I’m going and what I’ll be doing that day. If I know I have to take an exam, I’m probably going to wear sweats or something relaxing to bring my stress level down. If I have a presentation for class or a sorority function, I’ll go through and try to find something classy and fun, but I like to leave an impression with what I wear! I try to go with what I’m feeling, but I still like to try to impress everyone who is going to see me that day.

What do you feel most confident wearing?
Jeans, a cute shirt and my Vans! But I have my days when I like to dress like I have a purpose, and that makes me feel confident.

How do you dress for the unpredictable Buckhannon weather?
I usually get frustrated and just throw on jeans and a hoodie, since you never know what the weather will be like here, or even how much it’ll change within the next hour.

Do you have a favorite color to wear?
Blue, since it’s my favorite and it makes my eyes pop!

How has your style changed since entering college, if at all?
It’s improved a lot! I see all the new friends I’ve made and they are all just dressed to the tee and fabulous. When I joined a sorority, I had to make sure I had certain types of outfits. Seeing what the other girls would wear would help build up my taste and likes about what I would want.

What advice would you give girls who are looking to improve their style?
Just go with what you like! You could go shopping with the most high-end fashion designer and wear what they say, but if you don’t feel that connection to the clothes, they’re not for you.
