10 Ways To Jumpstart Your Healthy Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVWC chapter.

We’re finishing out the school year, and headed towards sunny days and summer break.

You’re gorging yourself on chips and guzzling sodas to make it through all those finals, but never fear – summer break is a chance to start fresh and kickstart a healthier lifestyle!

Here are ten easy ways to get started!

1. Create a new upbeat playlist for your workouts:

Get some new jams for your outdoor workouts. It’s been a long winter, you deserve it!

2. Buy more fresh fruits and veggies:

It’s finally produce season again! Find a farmers market, or go to the grocery store and stalk up on the good stuff.

3. Protect your skin:

The sun is out in full force again. Don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats. It doesn’t take long to get a painful burn.

4. Get fresh air

Even if you are busy, take some time to step outside and get some air. Your sanity will thank you.

5. Try something new:

New workout, new food, new hobby? Step out of your comfort zone and go for it!

6. Serve your community:

Even if you are just cleaning out your winter clothes to donate, anything helps.

7. Make plans:

Plan a weekend away or get tickets to something you’ve been dying to see.

8. Remove something negative:

Whatever has been weighing on your mind the heaviest, try to get rid of it.

9. Set a new goal:

Run farther, eat cleaner, become better at something you need to work on, or apply for that job you’ve looked at 20 times.

10.  Treat yourself:

Get yourself a new pair of running shoes or that dress you’ve had in your cart online all winter. You’ve worked hard this semester. You’ve earned it.
