The Ultimate Bucket List For Spring Semester In Morgantown

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

It is finally spring semester, which means a fresh start.  It means a blank canvas is sitting right in front of your face ready for you to literally throw whatever you want at it.  Fall semester might have been a drag, or it could have been one of the best semesters of your life, but everyone has the potential to make this spring semester everything you want it to be.  Here are a few spring semester ideas to add to your college bucket list.

1.  Get the highest GPA you’ve ever had!

Study hard, love to learn, and have your future in mind.  Nothing would make you feel more accomplished.

2.  Pick up a new hobby.

Join a club, learn a new sport, go to the rec everyday; find something that will keep you happy and enjoy it.

3.  Go on a kick-butt spring break trip with your friends.

Start saving that moo-lah now and get out your planner.  Going on a trip with your best buds is exactly what you’ll need come spring break.  Make memories that will last a lifetime.

4.  Get an internship

Get some experience of the “real world” and build up that resume.  Who said work can’t be fun too?

5.  Make new friends

Yes, your current squad is fab, but the more the merrier.  You can never have too many.

6.  Explore Morgantown

Go to a restaurant you’ve never been to before, explore nearby parks, go to Blue Hole if you’ve never been, and even if you have go again and again.  We are so blessed to have such a beautiful place to serve as our home away from home.

7.  Have the best St. Patrick’s Day ever

Yes, every year is the host to the best St. Patrick’s Day ever, but that means this year will top the last.  Have fun, be safe, and enjoy those memories.

8.  Spend time outside

Spring semester means that it will eventually start to get warmer (YAY).  Go on a walk, sit on a bench and do your homework, lay in the grass, and just enjoy spring time.

9.  Go to as many sporting events as possible

Cheer on Press Virginia, check out the new baseball stadium, and always be proud to be a Mountaineer!

10.  Focus on your career goals

We can’t stay at WVU forever (sad face), but we can make it reflect on our future.  Think about what you can do to make your career successful, network with future employers, and ask your professors for advice.

11.  Find something to be thankful for every day

We are blessed to have such an amazing school, great friends, a beautiful state, a supportive family, and so much more.  Remember that every single day and smile.

Whatever your bucket list may consist of, this semester has the potential to be whatever you make it.  Live in the moment, but always look to the future and shape it to perfection.  Happy spring semester, Mountaineers!

I grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. Growing up here I knew there was a possibility of going to West Virginia University my entire life. Although I decided to start my college career at the University of Kentucky, those country roads led me back to WVU in the spring of my sophomore year. This was also the point when I decided to establish myself as a Broadcast Journalist student. Since this point I have strived to become the best possible journalist I can be. I am currently working as a weekend reporter for WDTV-Channel 5 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Prior to receiving this position, I worked as an intern with WCHS-tv/FOX11, in the summer of 2014, where I learned critical editing, interviewing, writing, and speaking skills. I worked closely with anchors, reporters, editors, directors, producers, and even the web team. Aside from the television industry, I am the Campus Correspondent for the West Virginia University Chapter of the online entertainment magazine, Her Campus. Another position I currently hold is the Social Media Chair of WVU’s Radio Television Digital News Association Chapter. In the Fall of 2012, I became a sister of the Alpha Phi Fraternity, in which I held the position of ‘Big Sister Chairman.’ My other passions include horse back riding, scuba diving, being outdoors, and running. I am very adventurous and I try to stay well rounded. My goal in life is to live life to the fullest and be the best possible version of myself. My ultimate goal would be to earn a spot as a reporter/anchor for Fox News, New York. I plan to graduate in December of 2016 and look forward to my future.
