This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

Name: Cassie Werner

Age: 24

Hometown: Clarksburg, WV

What does your position require you to do behind the scenes?: “Event planning, trip planning, promotions, marketing, lots of meetings – usually athletics and the maniac exec. board, and of course, tons of sport attending!”

What are some of the perks to your job?: “Well, what’s really cool is that the Maniacs are really one of the only student groups that actually shape student policy- but traveling is really the best. Every year I get to go the coolest places, for instance, this year I got to go to Puerto Rico, Bourbon St. and every NCAA game, it was bangin’!”

What is your favorite part about your job?: “Becoming really good friends with Bob Huggins. He’s really gone above and beyond to include me. We’ve become so close so quickly, and he’s awesome!”

What is Bob Huggins like up-close and personal?: “He’s hilarious. He has this dry sense of humor and, really, in the nicest way ever- he’s a smart alec. He’s just like that goofy uncle everyone has but at the same time he takes his job at the University very seriously and I’ve genuinely learned a lot from him.”

She was a columnist for her local newspaper, The Times West Virginian, for two years. During her senior year in high school, Devin was a columnist for a national magazine, Gladys, where she went on to become the Public Relations Manager. At WVU, Devin is a member of Chi Omega Sorority. When she grows up, Devin wants to be a lawyer.
