Introducing the new Advising Coordinator for the School of Journalism, Emily Moll!

With the Director of Advising, Jan Boyles, transferring to American University, the WVU School of Journalism had some pretty big shoes to fill. Emily Moll, who has worked for the Journalism School for a year and a half now, has been selected for this position, along with our Campus Celebrity spot this week!

Name: Emily Moll

Title: Advising Coordinator for the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism

Previous Experience: As an undergraduate, Emily was the advisor for the entire child development program. She also taught online for the child development program for 2 years. Upon arrival to the School of Journalism, she was the Extended Learning Coordinator and advised all of the minor students, as well as about 150 undergraduate journalism students.

Years at WVU: Emily was a graduate assistant for 2 years and a School of Journalism employee for a year and a half.

Hobbies/Interests: Emily says she enjoys working with and meeting all of the students. She is also known for loving Sugarland and monkeys. 

Plans for the position: Emily says she plans to make the advising department in the School of Journalism one of the best on campus. She also wants to keep the advising center a student-friendly environment.

Rachel is a junior at West Virginia University and a direct-admit to the P.I. Reed School of Journalism, majoring in public relations with a minor in dance. She is the treasurer of the WVU chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America and a member of the WVU Dance Ensemble. Rachel is currently an intern with the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, where she single-handedly designs, writes and edits the monthly newsletter. She also works part-time at Guess. Writing, dancing and fashion are all passions of Rachel’s. In her free time, she enjoys getting coffee, shopping (especially for high heels and dresses), tanning, sushi, reading, listening to music and being a closet movie buff. Rachel’s hometown is Pittsburgh, PA, where she hopes to return to live and work someday at a public relations agency.
