Best Annual Frat Parties at WVU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

The WVU HerCampus staff looked at annual fraternity parties on campus. We considered the theme, the attendance, and the buzz it creates. These parties are thrown once a year, open to all students, and are solely put on by the fraternity, which means the list excludes Fall Fest, St. Patty’s Day etc., parties. Here is what parties we think are the best:

USAE presented by the brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Being true Patriots, SAE has hosted their annual USAE party for the past two years. It combines our nation’s colors as well as fresh brews from the USA. This party is notable for the large crowd, especially the turnout from almost every sorority on campus. It also made our list for the effort in making a giant flag out of beer boxes! Drinking for America, what is better than that?

Beach Party presented by the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon

The TKE beach party is the largest welcome back party for WVU students in the fall. It isn’t limited to just greek life, it attracts all WVU students, especially freshman who are experiencing their first college party. The party includes multiple live DJs, sponsors with free giveaways and contests throughout the night. The party begins in the afternoon and rages on till the next morning. It’s important to get in early since every year there is a line wrapped around the neighborhood.

YOGLO presented by the brothers of Phi SIgma Kappa

You only glow once, but since it was such a hit, the brothers at Phi Sig decided to glow twice. The YOGLO party has happened the past two years and it looks like it’s here to stay. The party is hosted in the Phi Sig party room, which has a capacity of 400 and a laser light system worthy of a European club. The party really gets started when brothers begin to toss paint on party goers. Gallons of paint cover guests from head to toe. It’s common to have paint chips in your hair for weeks as a result of attending, but owning a paint splattered shirt from YOGLO is worth it.
