5 Ways to Spice Up Your Hot Chocolate

As the temperatures drop outside, many of us want nothing more than to curl up on the couch with some blankets and a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. But if you’re hosting a holiday party or just need a pick-me-up for those cold-weather blues, sometimes a packet of Swiss Miss just doesn’t cut it. Here are some of my favorite recipes to spice up your hot chocolate!

1. Egg Nog White Hot Chocolate

  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup egg nog
  • 4 oz white chocolate, chopped or chips
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

2. Aztec Hot Chocolate

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 oz chopped dark chocolate
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Tiny pinch cayenne

3. Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2.5 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • Red food coloring
  • Vanilla extract

4. Nutella Hot Chocolate

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

5. Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocoloate

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
