A Definitive Ranking of Girl Scout Cookies
Every year Girl Scouts sell their iconic cookies across the country. I love all kinds of cookies, but especially the special treat of Girl Scout cookies once a year. This year I have particularly fallen victim to the multitude of Girl Scouts camped out with cookie booths around campus. Everyone has opinions on which cookie is the best, and I think those opinions really speak to who a person is. So, I am going to give my ranking and describe what type of person you are if each cookie is your favorite.
- Lemonades: This is an unpopular opinion but Lemonades are elite Girl Scout cookies. They are so sunny and refreshing. The crumbly, flakey shortbread and the tangy lemon icing make my mouth water. If you like Lemonades you have great taste and you are a positive ray of sunshine.
- Caramel deLites are the runner-up because I love their coconut flakes and caramel mixed on crunchy shortbread. If you like Caramel deLites you are complex and appreciate a good blend of flavors with your well-rounded backgrounds. You are indulgent and enjoy the richer side of life.
- Thin Mints are next because they have a cool minty flavor that pairs well with their chocolate cookie and icing. They especially taste great when chilled. If you like Thin Mints you are confident, chill and stick to your values.
- Shortbreads are great because they are a simple classic: they are the buttery, flakey cookie that is the base of other flavors. They also go well with so many things like tea, coffee or jam. If Shortbreads are your favorite you are classic and more traditional. You are good with people, but also very independent. You are dependable and trustworthy.
- Thanks-a-Lots are not my favorite but they do have a decent combo of shortbread and chocolate. I ranked them last because while they are similar to Shortbreads, they do not have as many diverse uses and I think the addition of chocolate is more off-putting. If these are your favorite then you are a people-pleaser and kind to everyone you meet.

I am allergic to nuts so I cannot rank these last two cookies, but I read their descriptions and got input from my peanut butter-loving friends.
- Peanut Butter Patties seem like they would taste pretty good. I like the idea of the combination of chocolate, peanut butter and cookie. I think if Peanut Butter Patties are your favorites then you like to have fun and you are energetic.
- Peanut Butter Sandwiches seem good, but they look like they might be kind of dry. I think if these are your favorites you have a unique sense of humor and are dependable. You have simple tastes and you know what you want.
Overall, I think that all the Girl Scout cookies are great, and buying cookies is a special treat each year that supports an empowering organization.
