13-year-old Jayme Closs was reported missing after her parents were found dead in their home. A 911 call at 1:00 am Monday morning is what lead police to their home in Barron County, Wisconsin. According to Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, there was no conversation with the dispatcher, only some noise. Officials claim that both parents died of gunshot wounds and that they suspect Jayme was in the house when it happened. The autopsies of Closs’ parents’ bodies will tell them how long they had been dead when police arrived.
Since Monday, a national Amber Alert has been sent out, and the public has been looking out for a 5-foot-tall, green-eyed girl with strawberry blonde hair. Some believed they saw Closs on Monday afternoon in Miami, Florida in a black Ford Explorer with two well-dressed, bearded men, but after the FBI did a follow-up on the tip, they found it wasn’t credible.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice and the FBI have been assisting the Barron County police in finding Jayme as soon as possible, as they believe she is in danger. Officials urge you to report any strange behavior or sightings that may help with the case.
If you have information about Jayme’s location or people she may be in contact with, please call the sheriff’s department at 715-537-310 or the tip line at 855-744-3879.
